Don't Forget Estate Records This tip comes from Forum member Happy Dae, who assures
you you're not necessarily out of luck if your ancestor didn't leave a will:When looking for wills of individuals, don't forget the estate records. My ancestor
didn't leave a will. Cemetery records didn't exist, and his gravestone had been destroyed. Thus, I had no date of death. However, in his estate records I found a bill for medical care giving dates of treatment, which indicated the approximate date of death.
This estate record was dated 1846.
